Details to be provided upon confirmation. Please check with our agents for details of the best flights to catch in and out of Iquitos.

Day 1: Iquitos - Amazon River

Arrive in Iquitos and transfer to the river where the Aria will be waiting for you. Settle into your cabin and explore the impressive amenities as the ship sets sail and your adventure begins! This evening there will be a safety briefing on board, followed by a welcome dinner. Later, enjoy a nightcap on the observation deck, under the stars, before retiring to bed.

Day 2: Amazon - Yarapa - Ucayali River

Rise early this morning to catch the stunning sun rise over the breathtaking Amazon River. Watch this green world fill with wildlife as the area literally comes alive. This is just a glimpse of what your Amazon crusie has to offer. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, before passing alongside the Yacapana Isles. You will also have the opportunity to go fishing for piranhas with the naturalists. Return to the boat in time for lunch and a quick siesta. Late afternoon sail along Lake Clavero, where villages paddle in their traditional canoes. You will have the opportunity to swim in the lake's calm waters and visit the local community. Return to the Aria for an aperitif before dinner.

Day 3: Yanallpa - Dorado River - Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

After breakfast board skiffs and explore a fascinating black water stream, part of the vast Amazon flooded forest within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Your guides will tell you about the jungle as you explore what scientists call a "gallery forest," because of its dense vegetation that creates a tunnel of leaves. Return to the Aria for lunch and a siesta. This afternoon take a magical journey through the "Jungle of the Mirrors," where towering trees are reflected in the dark river. Sail along to the Dorado River where you may observe enchanting parrots, macaws and a variety of primates, unperturbed by our presence. As you make your way back to the ship, you may see alligators, frogs and fishing bats.

Day 4: Source of the Amazon - Village - Iquitos

After an early breakfast you will cruise past the edge of the vast Pacaya Samiria Reserve, a flooded forest covering five million acres at the headwaters of the Amazon basin. Take a skiff to view the sun rising over the birthplace of the Amazon River, where the union of two major tributaries, the Ucayali and the Marañón, form the world's greatest waterway, where nature is at its most dramatic. This dawn excursion will be accompanied by bird song, as you glide past river banks with large-billed terns, falcons, sandpipers, grey tanagers, parakeets and the exotic short-tailed parrot. Later this morning travel by skiff to a native village, where you will meet and interact with villagers. They will share their culture, traditions and folklore with you and you will be able to purchase some unique folk art and crafts from them. Enjoy your final lunch back on board before disembarking the Aria for the last time for a visit to the Manatee Rescue Centre, on your way to the airport. You will learn about how the biologists and volunteers care for endangered Amazon manatees. Biologists will tell you about how the project is helping these harmless mammals and how they are cared for and prepared for re-introduction into their natural habitat. Late afternoon you will arrive at Iquitos airport for your flight back to Lima.
